The new Shots management team of Danny Searle and Anwar Uddin took a 24-man squad to Coles Park in north London to play Isthmian Premier League outfit, Haringey Borough. The squad included contracted players, several trialists and some Shots Academy youngsters.
Shots took the lead on 11 minutes with a neat finish from Trialist A, moving nicely on to a through ball and slotting home right-footed from 12 yards. The trialist wearing No 14, came on as one of six half-time changes and took just two minutes to get his name on the scoresheet for the second game running with a close-range finish. Alefe Santos scored the pick of the Shots goals on 58 minutes, curling home right footed from the edge of the area. On 70 minutes Trialist No 14 bagged his second, controlling a through ball from Ethan Chislett and rifling home right-footed from 12 yards to complete the scoring.
The 4-0 win is Shots’ second pre-season victory under new boss Searle, both coming with clean sheets. Their next workout is at Wingate & Finchley on Tuesday 16th July with a 7:45pm kick-off.
