Badshot Lea

v

Aldershot Town

A first half goal by Dean Rance and two second half goals through different trialists helped Aldershot Town to victory in their first pre-season game of the new season.

Whilst it was a somewhat slow start to the game, it was the Shots who were the more dominant side as numerous chances were created in the first 30 minutes, the most prominent of which fell to a trialist who narrowly headed past the post.

However on 43 minutes the deadlock was broken; as James Rowe whipped a fantastic ball into the box it connected with the head of Dean Rance who cushioned it past the keeper and into the bottom corner.

At half-time a completely new squad was introduced for Aldershot containing Academy and trialist players along with Shots centre-half, Alex Finney.

The introduction of these players helped Aldershot to victory as in the 60th minute a trialist collected the ball on the edge of the area and looped it over the helpless Badshot Lea keeper.

Ten minutes later the game was finished off for the Shots when a corner was drilled into the box and met the head of another of another Shots trialist.

The host’s best chance came late on as the number seven pounced on a poorly cleared ball and got a shot away, but it was easily collected by the Aldershot keeper.

The match finished at 3-0 and the scoreline was a more than fair reflection on the performance of Aldershot Town.
