Two New Loan Signings for Shots

Aldershot Town have added two key players to their squad ahead of this weekend’s trip to Dartford.

Prolific Kingstonian striker Andre McCollin joins on a deal until 2 May 2015, whilst Brentford midfielder Manny Oyeleke returns for a third loan spell.

Lambeth-born McCollin, 29, has already scored 10 goals in 16 appearances this season, in a total of 58 goals in 109 games for the Ryman Premier Division side. Known as both a predatory goal poacher and flamboyantly creative striker, McCollin began his career at Corinthian Casuals, before moving to Fisher and securing a move to League One side Yeovil Town. Two broken legs halted his progress but short spells at Dorchester, Grays and Farnborough saw him prove his fitness before joining Tooting and Mitcham and then Kingstonian.

Oyeleke, who has joined until January, made 40 appearances and scored six goals for The Shots in two loan spells last season. Initially signing from August 2013 until January 2014, he returned in March and his dynamic displays in midfield were crucial as Aldershot Town secured their place in the Conference.

Manager Andy Scott said: “We tried to get Manny back in pre-season but there were a few other clubs interested. He knows us and he’s desperate to play, and he’s available for the FA Cup, which is key for us. We hope that he’ll be a seamless introduction into the side.

“We also feel that Andre can fit into the team really well. He’s got a good goalscoring record, plenty of energy, he’s quick, strong and holds the ball up well. He wants his chance at this level again and we think that he’ll give us that little spark up front that we need. We’ve been watching him since pre-season and he’s been outstanding on every occasion.”

McCollin will wear shirt number 21, whilst Oyeleke has been awarded squad number 22.
