Simon Regan has kindly sponsored tonight’s matchball and has the following message for supporters:

“I’m Simon Regan and have been a Shots supporter since 1960. Well, once you’re hooked, that’s it, as we all know. I moved away from the area forty years ago but still turned up regularly, but don’t see many games now as I mostly live and work overseas. I decided to sponsor the game tonight to thank the core of fans who turn up week after week to keep the side going, through continual thick and thin. With the costs involved and the other distractions they deserve the cheers.

“My favourite players from days gone by include Jimmy Melia, Richard Walden and Big Jack. Later, the great times after ‘92 when we actually won things with Stevie Stairs and Butts. A favourite game? Lots of memories but I remember getting time off school to watch them beat Villa in the Cup in ‘64. Latterly, beating West Ham and playing Man United in the League Cup.”
