We’re delighted to confirm that Tommy Widdrington has signed a new two-year deal with the Shots, committing his future at the EBB Stadium until the Summer of 2027.
Alongside this, Tommy’s staff; Assistant Manager, Hugo Langton and Goalkeeping Coach David Smalley have also committed their futures to the Club for the next two years.
Taking charge of the Shots in April 2023, Widdrington guided Aldershot Town to safety as he kept his new side unbeaten during his first, and the season’s last, six games.
Langton and Smalley joined Widdrington’s Coaching staff during the summer of 2023 and under their stewardship, the Shots narrowly missed out on an Enterprise National League Playoff finish and enjoyed a memorable Emirates FA Cup run, beating League Two sides Swindon Town and Stockport County, resulting in a fantastic day out to Championship side West Bromwich Albion with almost 5000 travelling Shots.
And last season, Widdrington and his staff brought silverware to the EBB Stadium with an historic Isuzu FA Trophy win in front of over 18,000 Shots supporters for what was the Club’s first trip to Wembley in 100 years of combined history.
On committing his future to the Shots, Widdrington said: “I’m delighted to have agreed the deal that was a formality in the end.”
“I’ve had a great working relationship with our Board, and of course our supporters, since arriving here over two years ago, and I look forward to many more great moments at our fantastic football club!”
Here’s to many more brilliant memories!
