On Friday, The Shots hosted their second Business Leaders lunch at the EBB. The events was very well attended, with the CEO of both Farnham International and TAG in attendance and our guest speaker was DATO Dr. Kim Tan.
The attendees were treated to a lunch with the chance to network before the event got into full flow. The Leader of the Council, Councillor David Clifford and the Rt Hon. Leo Docherty MP for Aldershot were also in attendance and gave a Q&A about the development of the town. Attendees were also treated to an update about the renovation of the EBB, as Cllr. Clifford let them know that a meeting will be taking place on the 4th of February to determine a schedule for the ground renovation and to work out the details of the redevelopment. An update was also given on the development of the renovation of Aldershot high street and the purchase of units with a view to regenerating the town centre.
Following the encouraging developments, DATO Dr. Kim Tan gave an inspiring and informative talk about the philanthropic work that he has done in his career. He looked at the way in which he took an alternative approach to aid in underdeveloped nations and regions and found sustainable solutions that helped create long term businesses that would benefit their communities.
