Shots Release Three

Aldershot Town have released three players at the end of their contracts as manager Barry Smith begins building a squad for 2015-16.

Midfielder Mark Molesley and strikers Andre McCollin and Josh Scott will not be offered new deals, whilst all of The Shots’ loaness have returned to their parent clubs.

In addition to Joe Oastler – who has already triggered an extension clause in his existing deal – contract offers have been made to seven players, with a further three invited to return for pre-season training. In addition, Smith is also monitoring the recovery of several players who missed the final game of the season with injury.

Molesley made 110 appearances for The Shots in three spells, having signed his first professional contract with the Club in 2006. He returned on loan from AFC Bournemouth in March 2012 and then on a permanent deal in August 2013. Mark scored a total of 11 goals for the Club, including one in both of this season’s FA Cup ties against Portsmouth.

McCollin joined The Shots from Kingstonian in October 2014 and scored four goals in 29 games. Before scoring 58 goals in 109 games for The Ks, the former PE teacher also played for Yeovil Town, Fisher Athletic, Grays Athletic and Farnborough.

Former Dagenham and Redbridge striker Josh Scott joined Aldershot Town in January 2014 and scored 7 goals in 45 appearances for The Shots. He had scored 23 goals in 122 games for The Daggers, including four against Morecambe in the first leg of the 2009-10 League Two Play-Off semi-final.

The Club thanks all three players for their efforts and wishes them well for the future.
