Shots 1 Eastbourne Borough 2

Ten-man Shots were dumped out of the Emirates FA Cup as substitute Nathaniel Pinney curled a 90th-minute winner.

Despite the loss of Jim Kellermann to a first-half red card, another substitute, Idris Kanu, poached an equaliser which galvanised Aldershot Town into a late resurgence which threatened to earn victory until Pinney broke past Callum Reynolds to shoot past Mark Smith.

Bernard Mensah hit the post in a tight first-half, before former Shots striker Jamie Taylor gave Borough the lead with a superb 25 yard drive into the top corner on 52 minutes. Pinney missed from four yards soon after but Charlie Walker hit the crossbar and Kanu’s arrival further lifted The Shots.

His equaliser came on 69 minutes, as Straker fed Mensah on the left to supply a low cross into the six-yard box and Kanu nipped in to score from close-range.

Smith still had to make two strong saves, from Taylor and McCallum, but it was The Shots pushing for a winner when Pinney’s suckerpunch came.
