PROGRAMME PREVIEW: Southend United (H)

Aldershot Town are back in action at the EBB Stadium this evening for the first home game of the season under lights and as ever, there’s a packed edition of match day programme, Shots, to accompany your match day viewing.

Shots number 11, Ryan Glover is centre stage in the latest In Conversation With – he explains just what he learned from his summer break and how he is making the most of his new position on the pitch. Stuart O’Keefe gives his views in his Captain’s Column and there are the usual pages from manager Tommy Widdrington, and the Board, from club Chairman, Shahid Azeem.

The Shots Foundation let us know all about the excellent total the OlderShots raised for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in their recent charity game, the Supporters Club updates us on all their activities so far this season, and on the Junior Shots page there’s information on how you might be able to meet Shots mascot, the Phoenix! There’s the usual two pages of Phoenix Puzzlers to give your brain a workout either before the match or at half-time and in Champions!, George Borg takes his new team on the road for his first two Aldershot Town away matches.

Rob Worrall brings us more photos of Shots supporters in Fanzone, Nick Cansfield tells us about his thoughts for a version of golf handicapping in football and Trevor Knell looks at why it could well be better to have seven rather than the usual five subs on the bench in VNL matches. And in our feature First, Last and Everything, where media manager Sam Carter quizzes the players on some pertinent questions, Coby Rowe is the man with the answers.

Along with a comprehensive look at our visitors including a preview from Laurence Ryan, photos, and stats from Shots’ last two matches and a column from the Non-League Paper, Shots is available both in the Club Shop and in the ground, priced just £3. Don’t forget to buy your copy!
