We can confirm that Aaron Jones has turned down the offer of a new deal with the Club to join Sutton United.
Jones made 70 appearances for the Shots in his two-year spell at the EBB Stadium, chipping in with five goals.
He was made Vice Captain in his first season and stepped up to the role of Club Captain last season, ending his time with the Shots by lifting the Isuzu FA Trophy at Wembley.
Tommy Widdrington said: “Firstly I’d like to say a huge thank you to Aaron for leading a very young group at some of the biggest games he and they’ve ever played in!”
“On meeting Aaron on my arrival at Kings Lynn he’s done nothing but impress me with his leadership, honesty and willingness to give his all for the cause (whatever that cause may have been!)”
“Aaron has been a pleasure to manage, and his family have been a joy to meet and get to know.
I’m sure he’ll go on to win over the fanbase at his next port of call. Go Well Skip.”
Thanks for the memories, AJ – we wish you all the best in the future and thank you for your efforts and leadership in our red and blue.
