We’re delighted to confirm the signing of promising defender Will Armitage on loan from Southampton until the end of the season!
The 19-year-old featured for Southampton’s Under-21 side at the EBB Stadium as the Shots won 2-1.
Armitage joined the Saints as a 16-year-old having already mad his senior debut for Cheltenham Town and becoming their youngest-ever appearance maker at the time.

Tommy Widdrington said: “With Rollin Menayese departing after the conclusion of his contract, we felt the bolstering this area was important and it may not be the only one that we see in the next couple of weeks.”
“Will is a strong, commanding centre-half but can also give us a little bit more on the ball than what we’ve had at late and I’m delighted that the people in Southampton have helped us in managing to secure Will until the end of the season.”
Head of Recruitment Jamie Hedges added: “Firstly we want to thank Southampton for their co-operation in this loan deal.”
“Will is a player we’ve tracked for a little while, he played against us in the National League Cup and we’ve also followed his progress since.”
“We wanted to add to our back line and he ticks boxes in being a good size, aggressive and has composure in playing out from the back.”
Welcome to the Shots, Will!
