The Shots continue their Easter weekend fixtures as they welcome Marc White’s Dorking to the EBB Stadium on Easter Monday.
The fixture is the Shots second Easter fixture, the first coming in a defeat at York Road to Maidenhead on Friday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Shots trip to Meadowkbank earlier in the season ended in a first defeat to the Wanderers since they entered the National League. Jason Prior headed home in the opening minutes to give Dorking the lead, but Cian Harries stepped up from the spot to level the game just after the hour. However, Harries goal would be for nothing, as Jimmy Muitt gave Dorking the lead 7 minutes after his spot kick.
Dorking visited the EBB Stadium twice last year, oddly enough in consecutive weeks. Justin Amaluzor and Ryan Glover scored in a 2-0 win in the National League, and a week later Tyler Cordner scored the only goal in a 1-0 win in the FA Trophy.
SINCE WE MET
Dorking have struggled for win since their 2-1 victory over the Shots in October, not winning again until November 18th, when they beat Boreham Wood. The Wanderers were eliminated from the FA Trophy in the fourth round by current semi-finalists Macclesfield. The side have picked up five wins in 2024, against Oxford City, Gateshead, Boreham Wood, York, and most recently against Chesterfield on the 2nd of March.
NL FORM GUIDE: LLDLL
IN THE DUGOUT
Marc White has been an ever-present at Dorking, and is currently the manager of the Wanderers. White played for Dorking from the clubs founding in 1999, and became manager of the side in 2007. As a player and a manager, Marc White has been a part of 12 promotions in 23 seasons and helped Dorking into the National League, but this season has been a tougher challenge for White, as he has lost 22 of the 40 games Dorking have played this season. However, despite the challenging battle that is to come to remain in the division, White and the Wanderers will end the campaign being one of six sides to beat Chesterfield this season, Dorking winning that game by 4 goals to 1 at Meadowbank.
