The Spireites finished 6th last season, with 69 points.

They went on to lose to Notts County in the Play-Off Eliminator.

HOW DID THE SHOTS GET ON AGAINST THEM LAST SEASON?

Aldershot Town picked up just one point against Chesterfield last season, with a 0-0 draw at the Technique Stadium, despite Alfy Whittingham’s 82nd minute sending off.

At the EBB Stadium in March, an Alex Whittle goal saw the Spireites take all three points with a 1-0 win.

WHO’S THEIR GAFFER?:

38-year-old James Rowe took the helm at Chesterfield in November 2020, with the Spireites sitting in the bottom four of the National League. He consequently lead them to the Play-Offs.

Rowe previously managed National League North side Gloucester City and is a former Assistant Manager at Aldershot Town, having worked alongside Gary Waddock, leading The Shots to back-to-back Play-Off campaigns.

WHO’S DEPARTED?

18 players have left Chesterfield since last season finished. They include former Shot’ Will Evans, Tom Whelan, Kairo Mitchell, Scott Boden & Jack McKay.

WHO’S STAYED?

Rowe has retained 17 players, including; Laurence Maguire, Gavin Gunning, Curtis Weston, Liam Mandeville & striker Danny Rowe.

WHO’S ARRIVED?

Amongst Rowe’s 10 additions, are key signings; Keeper Scott Loach (from Barnet), Midfielder Jack Clarke (Aston Villa) and Striker Kabongo Tshimanga (Boreham Wood).

ANY EX-SHOTS?

Midfielder Manny Oyeleke made 94 appearances for Aldershot Town in separate spells between 2013-2018. New signing Jim Kellerman also played for The Shots’, scoring 8 goals in 68 games between 2016-2018. Forward Stefan Payne made just one (substitute) appearance for Aldershot Town in 2012.

WHO’S GOT THE WHISTLE?

Saturday’s referee is Tom Bishop. Last season, he took charge of 11 National League matches, showing 56 Yellow Cards and 7 Red Cards.

HOW TO GET TICKETS:

We would like to remind both home and away supporters of our ticketing/match-day protocols HERE.

Although our Ticket Office will be opening on the day of the game from an hour and a half before kick-off, (we advise fans planning on buying tickets on the day to arrive earlier), we further encourage supporters to pre-book their tickets via our upgraded Flowte ticket website HERE to avoid queues on the day.

We will NOT be accepting payment at the turnstiles but for supporters who decide to attend closer to the game, they will be able to purchase their tickets via the Club Shop/Ticket Office in person through cash, card or contactless payment and use the scanners on the turnstiles to enter through to the ground once they’ve collected their ticket.

We would also like to take the time to remind supporters of our new pricing structure going forward.

With updated Concession categories and in replacement of our Under 11s Go Free scheme, we have now introduced a new Family Ticket as shown in the full pricing list below:

  • Adult – £20
  • Concession (Disabled + Carer, Senior (over 65) – £16
  • Junior (17 & under) – £7
  • Family Ticket (2 Adults, up to 3 Juniors) – £45
  • Family Ticket (2 Concession, up to 3 Juniors) – £40
