“We got this fixture in quite early because we really wanted a fixture to represent what we’ll be playing against. Havant certainly do that, they’ve got a really strong team and a really good setup down there so they’ll really test us and hopefully get us ready for what entails in the future.”

“We’re looking forward to the game. it’ll be our third game in a week so we’re really building up that match robustness, getting that fitness into everyone. We’re still in that area of trying to refine bits and get those final touches in. Those bits always come from the matches.”

“We’re trying to balance it and get as many minutes into people. Our squad’s quite small so there won’t be too many changes. We’re trying to gel the players and build those relationships so the more they play with each other, the more that will grow.”

“We have got a lot of minutes into people, we’ll continue to top them up and see who arrives in the best shape and the best form for the start of the season.”

“I’m delighted to get him (Michael Klass) on board and I thank the board for backing us on that one. It’s an area we needed to strengthen, we’re quite light in the midfield area so we really needed to add to that area.”

“It’s not just adding anyone, it’s adding the right person, the right character and the right personality. I know Michael well, I’ve followed his career since he was at QPR. He came down to Bournemouth for a bit and I had him at Southend as well so I know what quality he possesses.”

“The thing I most like about him is his hunger. I think he’s had some good experiences in football already which is hopefully only strengthening his motivation going forward.”
