Message From Kris Machala’s Family

We were delighted to welcome members of Kris Machala’s family to the EBB Stadium on Saturday, as we honored his memory with a minute’s applause, and have received this message from Kris’s son Dom:

“My Family and I would like to thank you and the Club for arranging such a very sentimental day for us. The whole day was very touching, from the invitation to start with, the minute’s applause, the many mentions of my father, the Polish flag at half-mast, the many kind words from people at the Club, to you offering me the seat my father sat in during his time at the club. Saturday made me feel like he was there with me, like old times, and is a day and feeling that will stay with me for a long time.

“Returning to the Club brought back many memories I had at the club, and seeing familiar faces that have remained at the Club since the time my father was there, which in turn brought me a wealth of emotion. The manner the Club dealt with the farewell has just confirmed what a great club Aldershot is, and it’s a club that will forever have my support, love and respect.

“We send all our love, best wishes and have our fingers crossed for Aldershot’s return to the Football League.”

A Memorial Service is planned for Friday 23 February at 11am, at Holy Trinity Church on Victoria Road. All supporters are invited to attend.
