Shots Sign Ipswich Midfielder Blanchfield

Aldershot Town have signed Ipswich Town midfielder James Blanchfield on a one-month youth loan, until Sunday 28 January.

Born in Southend, the 20 year-old began his career with Arsenal at the age of eight and, following a trial with Manchester United, joined The Blues in 2014. Blanchfield signed his first professional contract in July 2016, a deal which was subsequently extended until the summer of 2018, and has remained a regular in the Under 23 squad at Portman Road.

We are once again grateful for the assistance of Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy in making this deal possible.

James will wear shirt number 28 and is available for selection as The Shots host Maidstone United at the EBB Stadium on Saturday at 12.30pm.
