Glenn Wilson Named New Shots Skipper

Glenn Wilson has been confirmed as Aldershot Town Team Captain for the 2014-15

Glenn Wilson has been confirmed as Aldershot Town Team Captain for the 2014-15 season, with fellow defender Chris Barker named Club Captain.

Boasting almost 900 senior appearances between them, they bring a wealth of experience and leadership qualities to the Club.

“It’s a massive honour and I’m looking forward to leading the team,” said Wilson, who was also Captain of Salisbury City last season. “I’ve got to try to lead by example. I’m naturally a quite outspoken person and I like things to be done the right way.

“The boys are all the same here. We all want the best and we’re all working in the same direction, and whether it’s me, Chris or anyone else, everyone is entitled to their opinion. As long as we’re all pushing in the right direction, that’s all that matters.

“Chris will be a massive help to me, and I will be talking to him as much as I can. We’ve got a few leaders in the team, and I think the more the merrier – it makes my job easier!”

How does he think the squad that he now leads will fare in a division which he knows so well? “Hopefully we can achieve something here. This is a tough League, it always is, but with the squad that we’ve assembled you’ve got to be looking to push up the table as high as we can. There’s no reason that we can’t achieve something this season.”
