Jake Recalled To England C Squad

Aldershot Town midfielder Jake Gallagher has been called up to the England C squad for the International Challenge Trophy qualifier against Slovakia U21.

Manager Paul Fairclough has named a 16-man squad for the game which will be played at Sutton United’s Gander Green Lane stadium on Sunday 5 June at 2pm. Admission is free for all supporters.

Jake won his seventh cap in March, as England C began their qualifying campaign with victory against Ukraine U20 in Kiev.

There are six players new to the international scene, and there is a welcome return to Omar Bogle, fresh from scoring two goals for Grimsby Town in their National League Promotion Final win at Wembley on Sunday. Also included is Swindon Town-bound John Goddard. It will be a last appearance for both players prior to plying their trade in the Football League next season.

A nine-man Contingency Squad has also been named, featuring: Peter Crook (Harrogate Town), Chez Isaac (Braintree Town), Brandon Daniels (Harrogate Town), Dion Charles (AFC Fylde), Scott Leather (Altrincham), Daniel Sweeney (Maidstone United), Daniel Johnson (Gateshead), Sam Jones (Alfreton Town), Jack Paxman (Maidstone United).
