Travel To Tour of Duty For Just £10!

Aldershot Town’s Board of Directors and The Shots Trust are helping supporters make the tenth-annual Tour of Duty at AFC Fylde extra special by offering subsidised coach travel for just £10!

Two coaches will travel to the match, at Mill Farm on Saturday 10 March – one subsidised by the Club and Trust, and the second by an anonymous Shots fan! Departure time from Parsons Barracks car park will be 7.30am.

Bookings can be made in the Club Shop before kick-off as The Shots host Bromley at the EBB Stadium on Tuesday, with places available on a first come, first served basis. Your £10 payment must be received at the time of booking, with early booking recommended to avoid disappointment!

“Having said that last year’s Tour of Duty, to Solihull Moors, was the most important one to date, I am going to say that this season’s is even more critical,” says Tour of Duty founder, Tony Roberts, “given the position the team are in and the quality of the opponents. It would be great if all of the people that enjoyed the day at Solihull could make the longer trip to Fylde and help cheer the lads on to three points.”

725 Shots supporters turned last year’s ninth Tour of Duty into a virtual home game, and Tony has issued another challenge to fans thinking of travelling to Lancashire: “Anything over 500 would be a really good turn out. Anything close to 700 would be fantastic! Being the tenth Tour, we are hoping to make it a fitting celebration of what has become a key event in the Shots’ calendar.”

Born from an idea first discussed in the summer of 2008, and beginning with an away game against Grimsby Town in April 2009, Aldershot Town’s Tour of Duty record now boasts four wins and three draws from nine matches.

“It has become one of the most anticipated away trips for Shots supporters each season,” reaffirms Roberts. “The day went perfectly to script last year, and the added support from the fans clearly makes a difference.”
