FOUNDATION: Congratulations to Shots Foundation for the Business and Community Award of Inspire 2020 awards!

The Shots Foundation is delighted to have received the award for the Business and Community Award of Inspire 2020 awards.

Chair of the Inspire Steering Board John Biffen, partner at Menzies and board member said ‘Almost every business has been impacted in some way due to the pandemic this year. Many have had to fight to achieve, succeed or just to survive. The Inspire Award winners are doing just that and doing it with passion, integrity and determination. These are North Hampshire businesses to be proud of.’

The Inspire Business Awards programme is an important part of north Hampshire’s business calendar. Established over fifteen years ago, the awards are entirely funded through sponsorship and are managed by Destination Basingstoke on behalf of all the sponsors involved.

The Foundation was praised for its work in 2020 with helping community and sports teams attend matches at the EBB Stadium, for its soccer camps and other courses offered, for its work in local schools and for its pioneering work with military veterans through its Veterans Hub.

Chair of the Foundation John Casey said:

“We are so proud of this award!

“I would like to thank the Inspire Board for selecting us from a very worthwhile group of finalists. It’s a great honour.

“I would also like to thank Councillor Clifford for joining us today and praising the work of the Foundation.

“The award is a great recognition for the Foundation of our work in supporting the local community.

“It reflects the commitment of the Aldershot Town Football Club to the town and I would like to thank the Chairman of the Club, Shahid Azeem for his continued championing of our work”.

Councillor David Clifford also said:

“I am absolutely delighted the Foundation has won this award for the second year. The Club and foundation have excellent community links.

“Winning two years running shows this is a dedicated and committed investment in our community and one that I am both grateful for and proud of. Well done and very well deserved.

“Thank you – you make a difference.”
