FITC Continue Free Female Football Sessions

Aldershot Town FC’s Football in the Community Trust is delighted to announce a further year of funding from the Premier League Charitable Fund to continue the Club’s Women and Girls football project which aims to increase participation for females aged 14-25.

Working with local schools, colleges and Hampshire FA, the Trust will be running a number of female-only sessions per week throughout Hart and Rushmoor as a mixture of satellite football club sessions, After-School Clubs and informal college sessions.

The first session took place this week at Wavell School, an After-School Club attended by 31 girls from years 10 and 11.

For the last two years, Aldershot Town have won a trophy at the annual FA Girls Football Festival, a five-a-side tournament featuring over 200 girls from across the country representing Premier League and Football League clubs played in the build-up to the FA Women’s Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.

The FITC Trust have played a major role in increasing female participation figures throughout the local area, with free sessions available every week. For full details and to get involved, email fitc@theshots.co.uk.
