Carr Drives In from Cambridge

Aldershot Town have signed striker Danny Carr on loan from Cambridge United until Saturday 9 January.

The pacy Lambeth-born forward, who turns 22 on Monday, joined United in the summer after two years with Championship club Huddersfield Town. Beginning his career with the Reading Academy, Carr moved into senior football with Eastbourne Borough and then enjoyed a prolific spell with Dulwich Hamlet in Ryman Division One South.

That form, which saw him score 25 goals in 2012-13, earned first a trial with Liverpool and then a contract with The Terriers. Loan spells at Fleetwood Town, Mansfield Town and Dagenham and Redbridge followed. Carr has made six appearances for Cambridge United this season.

He will wear shirt number 23 and is available for selection as The Shots host Cheltenham Town on Saturday.
