We’re delighted to announce that Josh Barrett has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the EBB Stadium until the end of the 26/27 season!
Barrett joined the Shots permanently from Kings Lynn Town in January 2024 having spent a short period at the EBB Stadium on loan from Reading during the 18/19 season.
The 27-year-old has since made 66 Shots appearances and has scored 21 goals in that time with 19 coming during last season.
Barrett’s most recent goal for the Shots, in the Isuzu FA Trophy Final at Wembley, will live long in the memories of Shots supporters, securing the 3-0 win.

On Barrett’s new deal, Tommy Widdrington said: “Josh has impressed everyone here at Aldershot since he arrived over twelve months ago.”
“He showed patience before at first, as Tolaj & Stokes were hard to shift! However, since cementing his place in the line up and showing more leadership qualities than most would have thought, He topped last season off with what we will all remember as that strike at Wembley.”
“Josh is a lad I have worked with over a number of years at various levels and I believe he is happier here at Shots than he’s ever been in his football journey.”
Keep up the great work, JB!
