Chelsea Host Feyenoord In UEFA Youth League

Chelsea’s Under 19 side will play their UEFA Youth League Round of 16 tie against Feyenoord at the EBB Stadium on Wednesday 21 February.

Kick-off is 7pm, with admission just £3 for adults, £1 for concessions, and free for season ticket holders of Chelsea and Aldershot Town.

The Blues topped Group C in the tournament, which mirrors the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, with five wins from their six matches. Chelsea’s top scorer is Luke McCormick, with four goals.

Feyenoord finished second in Group F, behind Manchester City, but lost just once in their six games. They then overcame Slovakians Nitra in a Play-Off, coming from 2-1 down to win 3-2 in the final minute, to reach the Round of 16. Their top scorer is Netherlands Under 18 international midfielder Orkun Kokcu, with five goals, including two against Nitra.

Past graduates of the Feyenoord Academy include Robin van Persie, Bruno Martins Indi, Giorginio Wijnaldum, Jonathan de Guzman, Vincent Janssen and current Feyenoord first-team head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The Academy produced more players who competed at the 2014 World Cup than any other club around the world, with 11.

The winners of this tie will face an away quarter-final against either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.
