Tickets Remain For Borg & Brown

Aldershot Town welcome two club legends on one great night in the EBB Lounge, with An Evening with George Borg and Terry Brown on Thursday 28 September.

Two of the most colourful characters in The Shots’ 25-year history, between them they managed the Club for almost 10 years and 550 games, winning two promotions, seven major honours and 292 matches.

The evening starts at 7pm and includes a one-course hot buffet, followed by fascinating and humorous insights into their hugely successful time at Aldershot Town. Supporters are invited to submit their own questions in advance by emailing steve.gibbs@theshots.co.uk.

George, who arrived at Aldershot Town with a reputation as one of the best managers in non-league football, won the Isthmian League Division One title by 11 points in his first season, and followed that a year later with a Hampshire Senior Cup and Isthmian League Cup double. The Shots won a second county cup and three times reached the FA Cup first round and ties against Exeter City, Brighton and Hove Albion and Bristol Rovers. Above all, though, George’s flambuoyant management and attacking style of football made him a hugely popular figure in his time at the Recreation Ground.

Brown became Borg’s permanent successor in March 2002, and won the Hampshire Senior Cup in his first month in charge. Terry then won the Isthmian League Premier Division with 105 points in 2002-03, before coming within a penalty shoot-out of reaching the Football League as The Shots reached the 2004 Conference Play-Off Final. A second-consecutive Play-Off place followed in 2005, and in 2006 Terry led the Club to the FA Cup third round for the first time in its history.
