Liam Bellamy To Have Knee Surgery

Liam Bellamy will next week have surgery on the knee ligament injury which has kept him out of the team since November.

The operation, scheduled for Thursday, will seek to correct the problem which Liam suffered in our game against Forest Green Rovers on 5 November.

Even though Liam was close to full fitness in December, the initial ligament strain has since been compounded by a loose piece of cartilage detaching itself from the bone, whilst a previous injury on the other side of his knee may also be exacerbating the current problem.

Two knee specialists have both recommended surgery, meaning that Liam will be immobile for six weeks after the operation. We wish him a full and swift recovery.

Nick Arnold, meanwhile, has returned to non-contact training following his ankle injury and it is hoped that he will resume full training next week.
