AWAY DAYS: Notts County (A)

Aldershot Town make their next away trip of the 2021/22 Vanarama National League campaign, with the visit of Notts County’s Meadow Lane this Saturday.

Here’s a comprehensive guide of everything you need to know ahead of the match at 3PM:

GETTING THERE

By Car

Leave the M1 at Junction 26 and take the A610 towards Nottingham and then follow the signs for Melton Mowbray. Turn left before the River Trent in to Meadow Lane. Parking is available at the Cattle Market (opposite the away end) which costs £3.50 a car or at Nottingham City Council’s Eastcroft depot (NG2 3AH) at £4 a car. The depot is a five minute walk from Meadow Lane, located just off London Road (A60), opposite Hooters. The entrance is signposted with banners and is manned by security guards throughout the match. Streets around the ground have a number of on-street pay and display displays, but these need to be paid via telephone or via the RingGo App. Check lamposts for information.  Free street parking is available further away. Martin Breslin informs me; ‘There is a relatively new, secure multi-storey car park at Nottingham Railway Station which offers match day parking at £5 all day on Saturdays and £3.50 evenings (after 6pm). You enter the car park via Queens Road. There is also the option of renting a private driveway near in the local area via YourParkingSpace.co.uk.

Park & Ride

If you would prefer not to drive into Nottingham centre, then there is a ‘Park and Ride’ scheme now in operation. If leaving the M1 at Junction 24 and following the A453 towards Nottingham, then the Clifton South Park & Ride site is clearly signposted. If coming in from the North and leaving the M1 at Junction 25 and following the A52 towards Nottingham, then the Totan Lane Park & Ride signposted off the first roundabout you reach. Parking is free and then you can take a tram to Nottingham Railway Station. If you show your matchday ticket then you can buy a tram ‘event’ ticket for £2 return, otherwise it costs £4 return for Adults and Under 19’s £2.30. Please note that you need to purchase your ticket before getting on the tram. The journey time into Nottingham is 15 minutes and trams run every 10 minutes (or less) during the day and every 15 minutes in the evenings. The service runs until midnight.

By Train

The Meadow Lane ground is a 10-15 minute walk away from Nottingham Railway Station. As you come out of the main station entrance, Turn left from the station across the car park and then turn right at the traffic lights. The ground is about a 1/4 of a mile down the dual carriageway on the left.

PARKING

There is a car park at the ground, but this is only for players and Club officials. A few minutes walk from Meadow Park is the Brook Road ‘pay and display’ car park, which costs £2.20 for three hours, £3.20 for four hours or £5.20 for all day. The car park is free after 6.30pm and on Sundays. Please be aware that in the streets around the stadium a residents only parking scheme is in operation, so please check lamp posts for warning signs of this before parking up.

There are a number of parking options near Meadow Lane. There is some parking at the stadium, but there are also quite a few car parks within walking distance. There is also a couple of Park and Ride Schemes that prove popular with visiting supporters.

Eastcroft Depot NG2 3AH £4 0.6km The council run depot is around a 5-10 minute walk from Meadow Lane, located just off London Road (A60). The entrance is signposted with banners and is manned by security guards.
Nottingham Railway Station NG2 3AQ £4 1.0km There is a secure multi-storey car park at Nottingham Railway station, which can be entered via Queen’s Road, and this is about a 10 minute walk to the stadium.
Totan Lane Park & Ride NG9 7JB Free to Park, £2 for Tram 10.7km If you’d rather avoid parking near the stadium, there are Park & Ride schemes in operation. If coming from the North and leaving the M1 at Junction 25 then Totan Lane Park & Ride is the best option and is just a 15 minute journey into Nottingham.
Clifton South Park & Ride NG11 0AB Free to Park, £2 for Tram 9.7km If you’d rather avoid parking near the stadium, there are Park & Ride schemes in operation. If leaving the M1 at Junction 24 then Clifton South Park & Ride is the best option and is just a 15 minute journey into Nottingham.

You’ll receive an e-ticket which you can either scan from your phone at the turnstile (if your brightness is high and your screen is undamaged) or print at home.

Tickets to the value of £1.50 or more will be subject to a 60p per ticket administration fee when purchased online or over the phone.
