‘On Yer Bike’ For Children In Need

Aspire Defence Services Limited will be recruiting cyclists to join their official world record attempt, in aid of Children in Need, at this Saturday’s home game against AFC Fylde.

Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre and its managers ADSL are holding an official Guinness World Record attempt from noon on Thursday 16 November for Most Electrical Energy Produced by Pedalling on Static Bicycles for 24 Hours.

ADSL will be distributing sponsorship forms at the front of the EBB Stadium for supporters wishing to participate.

With a target of 72,000 watts, slots of a minimum of 30 minutes are available to help break the record – interested supporters should contact Mike Barnett via mike.barnett@aspiredefence.co.uk or call 01252 347724 or 0845 129 3153. Volunteers will then receive a sponsorship form, with visitors also able to donate at the Sports Centre on the day.

The event is open to anyone over the age of 16 and your support will help raise money for Children in Need. By volunteering you will have the opportunity to ride one of 40 bikes used by British Cycling. The bikes have console displays recording the wattage being generated and scrutineers will be on hand to verify the record.

A live DJ will be on hand to provide musical inspiration, and sports massages will be available to soothe aching legs, in return for a donation to Children in Need!
