The Aldershot Academy under 21s progressed into the semi-finals of the Michael Bigmead Suburban League Cup after beating Bromley at Hayes Lane on Friday night!
Chances were few and far between in the 90 minutes, as neither side were unable to break the deadlock in a tense affair on a chilly evening in Bromley. So with neither side able to break the deadlock, the game was decided from 12 yards.
Finlay Westen – who has featured on a few ocassions amongst Tommy Widdrington’s subs this season – remained calm, saving two penalties and sending Aldershot through 4-3 on penalties at the expense of Bromley.
After the game, Westen said “it’s good to stay positive and confident in the lads, I done my job and the lads done theirs.” His full interview is available on ShotsTV HERE.
ShotsTV also spoke to Ryan Case at full time, he added “I said to them before the penalties, football has a funny way, when you’re doing well and you’re creating your own luck and you’re working hard it tends to respect that
“We said during the huddle Finlay will come good, he’ll make some big saves in big moments and he’ll come good.” His full interview is available on ShotsTV HERE.
Congratulations to the young Shots on progressing to the semi-finals!
