Academy seeks host families!

The Academy is seeking ‘home from home’ placements for our young players who live away from home to undertake their football training and education at the club.

We are interested in hearing from people who are able to offer placements for players between the ages of 16 and 19 years.

There are a number of players from a wide variety of locations and backgrounds who need to live away from home to undertake their training and education with the football club. The Academy is looking to expand the number of host families, particularly in the vicinity of Aldershot, Camberley and Farnborough, to ensure the ability to match each player to an appropriate family based on their needs.

We are currently seeking supportive, inclusive placements to help house boys from Monday to Friday, with the players returning home at weekends and returning in time to start training again the following week.

If you would like to apply to provide a caring ‘home from home’, please be aware that this position is subject to a Disclosure & Barring service (DBS) check and that all persons who are resident in the accommodation will be required to undertake this disclosure at host level.

Aldershot Town Football Club are committed to equal opportunities as well as safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All applicants will be required to undergo a full assessment to ensure compliance with safeguarding regulations prior to consideration, and demonstrate they are able to share the commitment to assisting with the future development off field of young players.

If you would like further information about becoming a host family, or are interested in helping the Club with this, please contact the Academy on academy@theshots.co.uk.
