Wembley Volunteer Recognition Award – Mike Pusey

As part of our visit to Wembley for the Isuzu FA Trophy Final on Sunday, we were asked by the FA to nominate a recipient for a Volunteer Recognition Award.

The club have, and have had, so many incredible people who have volunteered and continue to volunteer their time and efforts to us and we are extremely grateful to each and every one of you.

To recognise the many Shots who never got to see us play at Wembley, being our first visit under the famous arch in 99-years of history between Aldershot FC and Aldershot Town, we have nominated Mike Pusey for the Volunteer Recognition Award.

Mike gave over 50 years of service to Aldershot after becoming Club Chaplin in the early 1970s and retiring in 2022 at the age of 87. We sadly lost Mike at the beginning of this season and his place at the EBB Stadium has now been immortalised with the Mike Pusey Community Stand.

We’re gutted Mike can’t be there on Sunday to cheer us on and receive the award himself, but his Shots legacy lives on through his family who will be receiving the award on his behalf at half-time today.
