Lots For Young Fans To Enjoy This Season!

The new season is less than a month away and there has never been a better time to be a young Shots fan!

Under 11s will once again be admitted free to every Vanarama National League fixture during 2016-17, when accompanied by a paying adult, and we have lots of fun initiatives and offers to make the season even more exciting.

Membership to our bigger and better Junior Shots Club costs just £10 – and is FREE to relatives of adult season ticket holders – with loads of great exclusive benefits including free gifts, free matchday programme, discount in the Club Shop, a monthly newsletter from your favourite player, a chance to train with Gary Waddock’s first-team squad, signed birthday and Christmas cards and loads more! Full details are here.

We will once again invite fans into the Boardroom as Chairman for the Day, as you get to shadow Shahid Azeem, meet the players and manager before kick-off, host visiting Directors, write your own programme notes, enjoy a three-course lunch in the EBB Lounge and be part of the Man of the Match presentation. Full details are here.

Our Junior Reporter competition returns throughout next season, with budding young sports journalists invited to submit a 300-400 word report of any Shots game and see their work published on www.theshots.co.uk, in The Shots’ matchday programme and on the Aldershot News and Mail website! Winners in both age groups, under 12 and under 16, will also get to interview an Aldershot Town player for ShotsTV and shadow the Media Team with their own seat in the press box on matchday.

A new School of the Week scheme will be launched from the start of the autumn term, offering one local school chance to enjoy a visit from a Shots player for an Assembly and/or Q&A, and attend a home game, at which some pupils could be ball boys, form a guard of honour for the teams and even play on the pitch at half-time.

We will also be launching competitions for pupils to design a special cover for our matchday programme, as well as a new programme of curriculum support in subjects such as English and reading, maths, science, geography, history, art, PSHE and careers advice.

In addition, there are loads of opportunities for Aldershot Town to come to your school to be part of charity and community events.

If you are interested in taking part in any of these schemes, please email steve.gibbs@theshots.co.uk, or tell your teacher about them!
