Aldershot Town are delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Davies as first-team manager ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Joining from Slough Town following the conclusion of the National League South campaign, the 38-year-old requires little introduction in North East Hampshire, having enjoyed an extremely memorable set of spells at Aldershot Town as a player.
Taking on a solely managerial role, the appointment also marks the end of a fabulous 20-year playing career, including 135 appearances in the EFL.
Scott made over 90 appearances for the Shots across three non-consecutive loan spells, quickly becoming a fan favourite upon his initial arrival in 2007. As well as winning the Setanta Shield and reaching the FA Trophy semi-finals in his first campaign with the club, the midfielder was also at the heart of the 101-point, promotion winning side of 2007-08, most notably scoring that goal against Torquay United to clinch promotion back to the Football League for the first time since reformation.
Enjoying two further loan spells in 2008 and 2011, Davies went on to score 14 times in 48 League Two appearances for the club, a tally bested only by Kirk Hudson, Marvin Morgan and Danny Hylton across our time in the Football League.
Life after Aldershot saw Davies play for a series of clubs in the South East of England, before finally settling on the long-term home of Slough Town in 2019, eventually being appointed player-manager in 2022.
Having just completed his third full season in charge of the Rebels, he has successfully maintained the club’s National League South status on each occasion, as well as guiding the side to the first round proper of the FA Cup in 2023, taking League Two Grimsby Town to a replay, all the while offering his on-field services on a regular basis.
Everyone at Aldershot Town would like to extend a welcome return to Scott, and wish him an enjoyable settling in period across the next few weeks.
