Aldershot Town are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder, Conor Lawless, who joins us from Dagenham & Redbridge.
The 24-year-old joins with a distinct familiarity to the area, having grown up in nearby Slough. Conor is a product of Reading FC’s academy, and proved a regular fixture in their U18 and U23 sides between 2017 and 2021, culminating in a first-team outing against Luton in the FA Cup.
It would be the Hatters who next signed Lawless in 2022, and while a sole season was spent primarily on loan to Farnborough and Dulwich Hamlet, the young midfielder managed to partake in the side’s Premier League promotion celebrations at the end of the year.
Lawless has spent the last three seasons with Dagenham & Redbridge, impressing at both Step One and Step Two levels during his tenure. One man certainly convinced of his ability is manager, Scott Davies, who speaks highly of his new midfield asset:
“Conor is different to what we have in midfield and his addition will provide good competition in the middle of the pitch.
“Conor is a fantastic footballer, someone that’s very technical who you can rely on keeping hold of the football. He’s a good age, he’s experienced National League football previously with Dagenham and I truly believe he’s someone that can get even better as a player with the attributes he possesses.”
Swapping KSI for the equally extroverted Deane Wood, everyone at Aldershot Town wishes Conor a great settling in period, and we look forward to seeing him in action across pre-season.
Welcome, Conor!
