WELCOMING CHARLIE PATMORE

Aldershot Town are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Charlie Patmore, who joins us having most recently played for Bedford Town of the National League North.

Arriving with a clear understanding of his role within the squad, Charlie joins the first-team as backup to the recently added Nick Hayes, and will be working closely with both Nick and returning goalkeeping coach, Dave Smalley. Having previously played for Rayners Lane, Chesham United, Hendon and Southall, the 23-year-old possesses significant experience at both Step 3 and Step 4 level, and continues a rapid rise through the non-league pyramid, having only made the switch to Bedford in February of this year.

With contingency between the sticks secured, Patmore proves one of the final pieces of the puzzle as Scott Davies visualizes his Matchday Squad ahead of the upcoming pre-season preparations:

“Charlie is a very capable keeper and loved the idea of training full-time as number two. He’s had stints at National League North & South as a second choice keeper and will relish the chance to now train in an environment under Dave Smalley who will no doubt improve him yet again.

“Even at 23, Charlie has played almost 300 games within non-league so he comes with good game time under his belt but he’s fully aware of his role in supporting our new number one”

From everyone at the Shots, welcome Charlie!
