VACANCY: First Team Performance & Rehab Intern

Aldershot Town are currently looking for a First Team Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist/ Rehabilitator/Soft tissue Therapist Intern to work within our Performance & Rehab department ahead of the 2021/22 Vanarama National League season.

Title: First Team Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist/ Rehabilitator/Soft tissue Therapist Intern

Start Date: Pre-Season August 2021

End Date: End of Season June 2022

Time Commitment: August 2021- June 2022 – 3 days minimum per week, this includes 1st team training and match days.

Salary: Volunteer

Job Purpose:

· To Work with the first team on a daily basis, Assessment and treatment of injuries, Implementation of rehabilitation protocols, aid with day to day roles.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Assist in Matchday/ Training set-up

· Work in conjunction with the Head of Performance & Rehab in the design of research driven strength and conditioning programmes

· Help Deliver weekly-based gym sessions and notation of training loads for individual athletes, also supporting/ delivering final phase rehabilitation on training pitch

· Supervise the players in the appropriate technical use of specific equipment in the gym

· Develop knowledge of each individual athlete regarding the strength and conditioning component within football

· Support matchday preparation of pre-match, live, half-time and post-match warm-ups as directed by the manager/ coaching staff

· Other miscellaneous tasks as instructed from the manager, coaching staff and players

Desirable Knowledge:

· Good understanding of Microsoft Office

· IT competent (Apple software)

· Good understanding and knowledge of football, football-specific gym-based training

· Applied knowledge of anatomy and physiology

Personal Specification:

· Strong desire to work within professional football

· Adaptable and problem-solving
