Uddin Joins The Club!

Aldershot Town are delighted to confirm the arrival of Anwar Uddin as Assistant Manager to new First Team Manager Danny Searle.

Uddin was most recently at Maidstone United where he worked as First Team Coach under Hakan Heyrettin and John Still.

He was also Still’s Dagenham & Redbridge captain as the Daggers propelled themselves from the Conference up to League One.

This won’t be the first time the pair have worked together with Uddin coaching for Searle at West Ham United’s Academy.

Speaking on our newest addition, Shots boss Searle had this to say: “I brought Anwar to the club because he has an excellent understanding of not only the level required, but also his knowledge of players.

“He is a great person and that means a lot when you are working with someone every day.”

As a player Uddin was the first British-Asian to captain a side in the top four divisions of English football and works as Diversity and Campaigns Manager at the Football Supporters’ Federation and under that guise he has lead the Fans for Diversity campaign with Kick It Out.

He has also coached at Maldon & Tiptree and managed Sporting Bengal United, Ware and Glebe before joining Maidstone last January.

Welcome to the Shots, Anwar!
