Aldershot Town forward Connor Shields has today joined National League South side Billericay Town FC on a month’s loan deal.
The 22 year-old has already started training with his new side, with the player available for their next league game against Braintree Town.
Shields has made 24 appearances for the Shots this year since joining at the start of last season from Sunderland A.F.C, scoring 4 times.
Manager Danny Searle has explained the situation:
“The Shieldsy situation is similar to what Jacob’s (Berkeley-Agyepong) was to be fair,” he said.
“He needs minutes and we want to boost his confidence.
“He’s got a lot of positive attributes, but we’ve got to make sure he’s being utilised so when he gets his opportunity, he’s ready.
“It’s an opportunity for him to go and get a lot of games because they’re playing Saturday and Tuesdays pretty much every week now, so he’ll get a lot of minutes under his belt.”
Best of luck Shieldsy for the rest of the season and we’ll see you very soon!
