TOMMY WIDDRINGTON NAMED MANAGER OF THE MONTH!

Tommy Widdrington has been named the Vanarama National League Manager of the Month for November!

The month of November brought three wins out of four Vanarama National League games and a famous 7-4 Emirates FA Cup victory over Swindon Town.

The month started in the best possible fashion with a win that’ll go down in Aldershot Town history as Tommy’s Shots became the first non-league side to score seven goals against league opposition in FA Cup history.

Jack Barham scored a hat-trick, Lorent Tolaj scored a brace and Cian Harries and Josh Stokes also found the back of the net in our 7-4 win over League Two Swindon Town.

Next up was a special and poignant day in the Aldershot calendar as we played out our Remembrance fixture over Kidderminster Harriers. Josh Stokes scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win.

The Shots would face their only defeat of the month next as they were narrowly on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline away to Rochdale with Jack Barham scoring for the Shots.

Just a few days later, another away trip followed as Widdrington’s side travelled to Bromley on a Tuesday night. Finding themselves 2-0 down, Aldershot battled back to clinch a 3-2 win, courtesy of a 104th minute winner from Coby Rowe.

The late winners didn’t stop there, FC Halifax Town visited the EBB Stadium the following weekend and Lorent Tolaj was the late hero this time, as he scored in the 98th minute to clinch a 1-0 win.

On his achievement, Widdrington was full of praise for all of those around him, saying: “The players are the ones who deserve the credit, they’ve been supported fantastically by our supporters from day one and have responded excellently to produce some marvellous results.”

“I also have to mention my immediate support staff Hugo (Langton), Richard (Dryden), David (Smalley), Liam (Charles), Brad (Reed) and Jamie (Hedges) who along with Terry (Brown) are all key to what we do.”

“The Chairman and Board of Directors also deserve a mention as I have of course been supported fully by them too.”

Congratulations to Tommy and all of his staff on a thoroughly deserved achievement!
