Sutton sub Ross Lafayette snatched victory for United as they confirmed third place in the National League and left the Shots facing a home Play-Off Eliminator against Ebbsfleet United on Wednesday evening.
Scott Rendell had brought The Shots level midway through the second-half, with a nerveless penalty, but Lafayette bundled the ball in from close-range after Lewis Ward had failed to hold Tom Bolarinwa’s angle drive.
