Following a report in today’s Non-League Paper, Aldershot Town release this statement:
The Board of Directors can confirm that we held a meeting with Ashley Read, but this was not to discuss a takeover of the Club, and no such deal is imminent.
It is no secret that we are always looking for new investment, and have in the past three years met a number of potential investors, but nothing to date has materialised which we consider to be in the best interests of the Club.
We continue to look for new investment to take the Club forward but will only ever do what is best for our supporters to ensure the long-term sustainability of Aldershot Town FC.
