Aldershot Town will be playing at Wembley on Cup Final day this August, as a Shots Girls team take part in the prelude to the 2015 Women’s FA Cup Final!
A squad of ten girls aged 14 – 16, selected from local schools, will represent The Shots in the Wembley Girls’ Football Festival, a pre-match five-a-side tournament featuring 24 teams from around the country, including Chelsea, Everton and Leicester City.
Starting at 8am and finishing at approximately 2pm – in time for the Final itself, between Chelsea and Notts County, at 3pm – teams will play in groups of five, with four progressing to two separate knock-out stages.
In the build-up to the tournament, the Aldershot Town FC Football in the Community Trust will be holding FREE coaching sessions for girls aged 14 – 20 at the Connaught Leisure Centre. The sessions run from 5 – 6pm on every Monday during July.
