Shots vs Gateshead: Community Day!

We are pleased to announce that our fixture this coming Saturday vs Gateshead will be our inaugural Community Day. Organised by the Shots Foundation, there will be plenty more going on around the EBB Stadium on Saturday that supporters of all ages can get involved in.

  • Increased Activities in the Fanzone – The Shots Foundation’s Fanzone will be busier than ever as they run additional activities for youngsters attending the games, such as football darts, and a penalty shoot-out competition. This is all in addition to the usual activities in the Fanzone Marquee and on the Shots Mini Pitch.
  • Ice Cream Van – There will be an ice cream van on site for Shots fans just as they enter the turnstiles, with 25% of sales going back to the Shots Foundation; fingers crossed for warm weather!
  • Charity Crossbar Challenge – We are looking for up to four participants to get involved with a special edition of our crossbar challenge. Play for a charity of your choice and win £50 for every crossbar hit you make. Contact [email protected] if you’re interested.
  • Community Stalls – We look forward to seeing Reading Force on Saturday promoting the work they do. You will have seen a few weeks ago that we worked with Reading Force to mark the National Year of Reading. In addition, Tesco have generously provided some free fruit and water for the children getting involved with our activities, thank you, Tesco!
  • Outside Bar – There will be a small bar set up down the front. This bar is primarily for parents accompanying their young children as they get involved with the activities and is not a replacement for any other bar within the EBB Stadium. We encourage fans who are not accompanying children to continue to drink from the main bars in the ground.

Jamie MacAllister, Head of the Shots Foundation, said, “We’re looking forward to hosting our very first Community Day. Over the past few seasons we’ve been exploring ways to enhance the matchday experience, run more activities, and make the occasion even bigger for our supporters.

It’s great to see everything coming together, and we’re expecting to be busier than ever this Saturday. If you’re around, please come and say hello and get involved with everything we’ve put on for Shots fans of all ages.”

So, if you’re around on Saturday, and especially if you’re attending with children, arrive early and get involved with our Community Day, and there may even be an opportunity to meet some players! For more information on the inaugural Community Day, contact [email protected].
