Shots to Honour Remembrance Day

Aldershot Town will once again honour Remembrance Day as we host Bradford City in the Emirates FA Cup 1st Round Proper at the EBB Stadium.

The Shots will proudly have the poppy emblazoned on their shirts for another year as today both clubs today to reduce admission for Active Military Personnel to the game for just £10. Anyone who would like to take up this great offer should bring along their Military ID on entry to the Stadium.

This year’s ceremony will be especially poignant as 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

The club will also welcome members of the Royal British Legion in Aldershot who will also be around the ground with their collection buckets for the 2018 Poppy Appeal.

Members of the Aldershot Garrison will be in attendance on Saturday. Our Garrison colleagues kindly decorated the EBB Stadium with hundreds of poppies last week.

We are delighted to welcome Aldershot-based Normandy veteran Lewis Trinder to this weekend’s match, too. Lewis will deliver the official FA Cup match ball to the centre circle prior to kick off.

We encourage supporters to take their seats or spot on the terrace by 2:50PM to pay their respects, this will be followed by our pre-match ceremony led by Club Chaplain Rev Mike Pusey, a lone Bugler will then play the Last Post which will be followed by a minute’s silence and Reveille ahead of the game.

Players shirts will then be auctioned off following the game and the club will donate a shirt to the Aldershot Branch of the Royal British Legion who have provided six standard bearers for the pre-match ceremony.

Bidding is now open for the shirts and supporters can email Shots Commercial Manager Mark Butler on mark.butler@theshots.co.uk with their minimal and maximal offers.

Tickets to the match will be our usual admission rates and can be purchased HERE. Hospitality Packages are also available at their regular price, for more information click HERE.
