Shots Sign Royals’ Hyam

Aldershot Town have signed Scottish Under 21 international defender Dominic Hyam on loan from Reading until the end of the season.

The 21 year-old has previously enjoyed loan spells at Hemel Hempstead and Basingstoke Town in National League South, and last season also made 16 appearances in League Two with Dagenham and Redbridge.

In August 2016, Hyam began a further three-month loan spell with Portsmouth, before playing for The Royals in their Checkatrade Trophy tie against Yeovil Town in January.

Born in Leuchars in Fife, Hyam has won five caps for the Scotland Under 21 side, and in 2013 was part of the Reading team which reached the Premier Academy League final. He signed an extension to his professional contract at the Madejski Stadium in May 2016.

Dominic will wear shirt number 18 and is available for selection as The Shots travel to Macclesfield Town this Saturday.
