Shots Reach Wembley!

Aldershot Town will play at Wembley Stadium this weekend in front of 55,000 fans!

The Shots’ Football in the Community programme takes its Under 16 girls side to compete in a tournament which will act as a prelude to the historic England v Germany women’s international on Sunday.

Organised as part of the Female Football Development programme which is run by National Women’s and Girls’ Football Project Co-ordinator, Nicole Meredith, the five-a-side tournament will see The Shots play three group matches, with a chance to qualify for the quarter-finals.

The only team from Hampshire to reach the final stages of the tournament, the players all attend local schools, including The Connaught School, Farnborough Hill and Wavell. The full squad is: Shannon Cuthill, Mollie Devanney, Eva-Maria Embleton, Jessy Jones, Brogen Nevitt, Chloe Ochitree, Lou Lou Robson, Joanna Seaman, Charlotte Stevens and Sian Walker.

The fixture is the first that the Lionesses have played at Wembley, although Team GB faced Brazil at the national stadium during the 2012 Olympic Games.
