Shots Nominated For Community Award

Aldershot Town’s community work has been recognised by the Inspire Business Awards, with a nomination in the 2014 Business and the Community category.

The awards, which celebrate the success of businesses in north Hampshire, will be announced at a glittering gala dinner attended by 600 guests at the Highfield Park Hotel in Hook on Thursday 13 November

Over 120 businesses applied to take part in the Awards, with the vast majority of applications in the Business and the Community category, and The Shots are vying with two Basingstoke companies for the accolade: The Tea Bar, a traditional tea rooms, and hairdressers FHC For Hair.

Now in their tenth year and with 39 businesses nominated across 13 categories, the Inspire Business Awards aim to showcase business excellence in North Hampshire, promote the area as a key business region within the UK, and to inspire local small and medium enterprise’s to prosper.

“Once again the judging has been difficult, with some fantastic businesses putting in entries from right across the region,” said Menzies’ John Biffen, one of the judges. “There is a huge diversity, from recent start-ups to globally-recognised brands, all demonstrating why north Hampshire is such a great place for businesses to thrive. Unfortunately there can only be three finalists from each category, so there was some lively debate among the judges!”

“We are extremely proud to have been nominated,” said Shots Chairman, Shahid Azeem. “It is fantastic that our work in the community is being acknowledged, and this will only encourage us to work even harder to make even more of an impact.”
