We can now provide the following injury updates through the words of First-Team Lead Sports Therapist, Georgia Haskett:
Jed Meerholz
Jed continues to make positive progress in his return to play. He remains on track and has been working hard during his time in at the training ground. He is currently completing change of direction work alongside ball-based exercises, with a gradual reintegration into full training to follow.
Ashley Akpan
Ash has returned to full contact training and recently featured for the Under-23s, completing 45 minutes without any issues. He continues to build strength around his training programme and is progressing well.
Josh Brooking
Josh is showing encouraging signs in his rehabilitation and has now progressed to change of direction and ball work. The next phase will see elements of team training gradually introduced as he continues his return to play.
Luke Jenkins
Luke has been managing tendinitis in his hamstring and has received two injections to aid his recovery. Following the second, he experienced some mild side effects which required a short period of rest. With hopes of being available for selection next Tuesday or Saturday, subject to further assessment. Luke has shown a strong desire to return and has approached his rehabilitation with great commitment.
Ollie Harfield
Ollie has now returned to full training and is progressing very well. He is in a strong physical condition, and if his progress continues, there is the potential for him to gain some minutes before the end of the season. Following consultation with his surgeons and an external physiotherapist, his knee is structurally sound with no concerns regarding his return to play. Considering the severity of his injury, Ollie has demonstrated an excellent mindset and professionalism throughout, dedicating significant time and effort to his recovery. He is in a very positive position and on course for a full return ahead of next season.
