Aldershot Town face Premier League opposition at Wembley Stadium next week as The Shots join 23 other teams in the Wembley Girls’ Football Festival.
The Shots’ squad, of ten girls aged 14 – 16 selected from local schools, have been drawn alongside Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion, Blackpool and Luton Town, in Group C of the five-a-side tournament which takes place before the 2015 Women’s FA Cup Final on Saturday 1 August.
Starting at 8am and finishing at approximately 2pm – in time for the Final itself, between Chelsea and Notts County, at 3pm – teams will play in groups of five, with four progressing to two separate knock-out stages.
Organised and coached by the Aldershot Town Football in the Community Trust, The Shots’ team have been training at Connaught Leisure Centre throughout July, with free open sessions held on Monday evenings.
