Shots In Hampshire Cup Action On Tuesday

Aldershot Town face Bashley next Tuesday, 20 September, in the second round of the Hampshire Senior Cup.

A young team led by Academy Manager Lee Collier, and possibly featuring a number of first-team squad members, will travel to Bashley Road for a repeat of the 2003 Hampshire Senior Cup Final. Kick-off is 7.45pm.

Managed by Tom Prodomo – former Men’s National Team Assistant Head Coach with the Engkand Colleges Football Association – Bashley Bashley are currently third in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division, with five wins and 16 points from their opening seven games of the season.

Stability and success appear to have returned following a 2015-16 season which brought relegation from the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West with just two points and a goal difference of -188!

On Tuesday they beat Moneyfields in the Sydenhams League Cup, progressing 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw. In their most recent league match, Bashley beat Portland United 5-2, with two goals each for Jesse Gould, on his debut, and Kabba Jack.

Jack is the Club’s top scorer with seven, ahead of Shane Sheridan on four and Gould who already has three since signing from current league leaders Blackfield and Langley.

The two sides’ only previous meeting was at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium, in May 2003, as The Shots came from behind to win the Hampshire Senior Cup with two goals from Aaron McLean in front of 4092 fans.

Admission is £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and £3 for under 16s.
